Mapping of corals around the Galápagos islands

RWMT is diving with the GNPD (Galapagos National Park Directorate) to map different types of corals.

The purpose is to document how much coral is found in different areas and to see how they recover.

The GNPD field team together with RWMT's Deputy Chief of Operations and Diving Officer
The GNPD measures and photographs corals and controls their color
Damaged corals are picked up and relocated in the hope that they will recover. This is a new research project at the GNPD that will continue for several years.
